Day 1 – Bamberg. Long distance forest. I only did controls 9-11, as I rolled my ankle the day before.

Day 2 – Stussenbach.  Middle distance. Beautiful pine forest with scattered rock. This is Ian’s course.  Due to the steepness, I stuck to the Easy course.

Day 3 – Passau. Sprint/urban.  I enjoyed this but was still walking at this point.

Day 4 – Regensburg. Sprint/urban. My first run; my favourite race.  Fabulous. My course was way more complex than Ian’s.

Day 5 – Landshut. Middle distance castle/park.  Ian’s course; again I did the Easy course because of the myriad of contours.  My first ever Castle race.
