A FAMILY MEDAL RUSH.

Enough with the colourful landscape, back to business. Orienteering.

Today we have a double header.

First event was a 60 minute score course on the Telegraph Station map. A section is  in the photos and as it was drawn at 1:6000 it wont all fit on. Great map and the 7.30am start made it fabulous and cool. Strange scoring format, all controls 10 points but then only a two point per minute penalty. Ewin T was three minutes late back but still took the silver tipping me back to a Bronze by four points.  The gold medalist was too good today.

For Ilze, her preparations proved the difference and got her a well earned Bronze. Today she had water, a neck scarf, a better hat, a plan and a determination to finish.

Also included is the first map from the Sprint, the second leg dissolved in perspiration. Purists take note of the confusing choice of the mapper to use the thick black,  un-crossable feature, line to map a small internal road. Not ideal.

So the Yeates family medal rush continues.

Pete.
