Dreams lost in the mist.

Tuesday 17th September

Lat Unknown. Long, Unknow.

Lost in fog and rain for the last 36 hours all we saw were the ghosts of cruise ships passing in the fog and nothing else until about 4pm to day when the rain cleared enough for us to see the famous Port Hardy light house entrance to the famed Inside Passage.

A few hours later the rain came again and the light faded, we retired to console ourselves with the Captains “Last night cocktail” (Shudder) and then went to bed.

When we first planned this adventure in 2019, this is why we came. That adventure collapsed with Covid costing us plenty in lost refunds. When we planned to come again this year, the Kodiak bears were a bonus but the Inside Passage was the dream.

Dreams don’t often come true.

This one certainly did not.

We will not travel this far again and this is probably be my last blog.

We will try to remember Venice with Debbie and Ian. Istanbul twice because we could. Latvia because Ilze needed to. Iceland because you have to and the Northern Lights because they make your heart sing.

This?.

No.

We should have given the money to a Ukrainian charity.

It’s been a privilege.

Pete
