IN RAIN HAIL & SHINE.

The sprint Orienteering is done and we have a rest day tomorrow.

The day started out cool and damp and we were able to walk to the start beneath a national monument in a park on the edge of the CBD.

Ilze preserves the locals modesty.

Ilze was able to get away early and found the going damp underfoot and the cobbled lanes in the old town were very slippery with reports of many competitors going down. She completed her course well and despite a brief excursion 18O degrees in the opposite direction was delighted to have finished well clear of the bottom.

Pete did not start till nearly 3 hours later by which time the sun was out but there were ominous rumblings and storm clouds gathering. I got away well and made no errors and no hesitations but the same as yesterday the technical difficulty was low and the fast runners again dominated.

Seeking Divine inspiration.

Away at the start in the last of the sun

I was pleased with my placing, I could have done no better. I was even more pleased to be invited to join Geoff, Schon and the others in a nearby café as with a crash of thunder and lightening it began to hail and pour with rain. The café owner was soon delighted with his level of  patronage.

Not enjoying the rain at the Final

Its warm inside.

Off back to the hotel in the pouring rain and soaked to the skin and thinking that perhaps yesterday had not been so bad after all.

I wonder what’s for dinner.

Perhaps it kebabs again from our friends across the road.

Pete.

You were both lucky to have not been in one of the many voided class results.
