Another quick update. It was 37 degrees yesterday, too hot for sightseeing so we focused our attention on packing and readying ourselves to join the cruise. Not helped by the breakdown of the single washing machine. This morning the weather finally broke with some welcome rain and a much cooler temperature. We booked a rideshare through Cabify; easy to do, the driver was right on time, the car was clean and it was cheap (by our standards) and very convenient. By 11am we were entering the very posh foyer of the Emperador Hotel, our home for tonight. Checking in was a rigmarole but we got there in the end.
Hurtigruten were set up in a function room, providing charter flight details and luggage tagws. Our luggage has to be outside our room by 8pm tonight. Breakfast at 5.30am, bus leaves for the airport at 6.30, plane leaves at 9.40am, and we should land in Ushuaia by1pm – all being well.
Ah, you are travelling with Hurtigruten! Memories of Norway!
